The story of the fish about Durood Mahi
An Wali Allah, may Allah have mercy on him, was performing ablution on the bank of a river when a fish came and recited this Durood Sharif. They inquired from whom he had learned it. The fish replied that once on the bank of the river I heard an angel reading and remembered that from that day I am safe from all calamities.

اَللّٰہُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍوَّعَلٰی اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍخَیْرِالْخَلَآئِقِ وَاَفْضَلِ الْبَشَرِوَشَفِیْعِ الْاُمَمِ یَوْمَ الْحَشْرِوَالنَّشْرِ وَصَلِّ عَلٰی سَیِّدِنَامُحَمَّدٍوَّعَلٰی اٰلِ سَیِّدِنَامُحَمَّدٍ م بِعَدَدِکُلِّ مَعْلُوْمٍ لَّکَ وَصَلِّ عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍوَّعَلٰی اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّبَارِکْ وَسَلِّمْ وَصَلِّ عَلٰی جَمِیْعِ الْاَنْبِیَآئِ وَالْمُرْسَلِیْنَ وَصَلِّ عَلٰی کُلِّ الْمَلٰٓئِکَۃِ الْمُقَرَّبِیْنَ وَعَلٰی عِبَادِاللّٰہِ الصَّالِحِیْنَ وَسَلِّمْ تَسْلِیْمًاکَثِیْرًا کَثِیْرًا بِرَحْمَتِکَ وَبِفَضْلِکَ وَبِکَرَمِکَ یَااَکْرَمَ الْاَکْرَمِیْنَ بِرَحْمَتِکَ یَااَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِیْنَ یَاقَدِیْمُ یَادَآئِمُ یَاحَیُّ یَاقَیُّوْمُ یَاوِتْرُ یَااَحَدُیَاصَمَدُیَامَنْ لَّمْ یَلِدْوَلَمْ یُوْلَدْوَلَمْ یَکُنْ لَّہٗ کُفُوًا اَحَدٌبِرَحْمَتِکَ یَااَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِیْنَ
Allahumma salli 'ala Muhammad-in wa 'ala ali Muhammad-in khair-il-khala'iqi wa afdal-il-bashar-i wa shafi'-il-ummami yaum-al-hashri wa an-nashr-i wa salli 'ala sayyidina Muhammad-in wa 'ala ali sayyidina Muhammad-in bi'adadi kulli ma'lum-in laka wa salli 'ala Muhammad-in wa 'ala ali Muhammad-in wa barik wa sallim wa salli 'ala jami' il-anbiya'i wal-mursalin wa salli 'ala kull-il-mala'ikati al-muqarrabin wa 'ala 'ibadillah-is-salihin wa sallim tasliman kathiran kathira bi-rahmatika wa bi-fadlika wa bi-karamika ya akram-al-akramin bi-rahmatika ya arham-ar-rahimin ya qadeem ya da'im ya hayyu ya qayyum ya witr ya ahad ya samad ya man lam yalid wa lam yulad wa lam yakun lahu kufuwan ahad bi-rahmatika ya arham-ar-rahimin.
O Allah, send Your blessings upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad, the best of creation and the most excellent of mankind, and the intercessor for the nations on the Day of Gathering and Resurrection. And send Your blessings upon our master Muhammad and upon the family of our master Muhammad, with the number of everything known to You. And send Your blessings upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad, and bless and grant peace. And send blessings upon all the prophets and messengers, and upon all the close angels, and upon all the righteous servants of Allah. Grant abundant and plentiful peace, with Your mercy, Your grace, and Your generosity, O Most Generous of the generous. With Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful. O Eternal, O Everlasting, O Living, O Self-Sustaining, O Unique, O Singular, O Absolute, O One who does not beget, nor is He begotten, and there is none like unto Him. With Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful.
