Dua for Travel ( Dua e safar )

Hazrat Abu Hurairah, may God be pleased with him, narrated that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: Traveling is a part of punishment. Therefore, when a man fulfills his need, he should return home as soon as possible (Mishkwah Sharif).

Travelling Dua

Istekhara for travel :

The meaning of Istekhara is to want to be happy and to be comforted. It is believed that before doing any good deed one should seek blessings and pray to Allah Azawajal.

Dua e Ahsan of Safar : 

As soon as you step out of the door, recite this dua:

بِسْمِ اللہِ وَبِاللہِ وَتَوَکَّلْتُ عَلَی اللہِ وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّۃَ اِلَّا ِباللہِ اَللّٰھُمَّ اِنَّا نَعُوْذُ بِکَ مِنْ اَنْ نَّزِلَّ اَوْ نُزَلَّ اَوْ نَضِلَّ اَوْ نُضَلَّ اَوْ نَظْلِمَ اَوْ نُظْلَمَ اَوْ نَجْھَلَ اَوْ

یَجْھَلَ عَلَیْنَا اَحَدٌ .

Bismillahi wa Billahi wa Tawakkaltu 'ala Allah wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah. Allahumma inna na'udhu bika min an nazilla aw nuzalla aw nadilla aw nudalla aw nazlima aw nuzlama aw najhala aw yajhala 'Alayna ahadun.

Recite this dua while walking.Property and family will be safe until return.

اَللّٰھُمَّ اِنَّا نَعُوْذُ بِکَ مِنْ وَّ عْثَـآءِ السَّفَرِ وَکَاٰ بَۃِ الْمُنْقَلَبِ وَسُوْءِ الْمَنْظَرِ فِی الْمَالِ وَاْلاَ ھْلِ وَالْوَلَدِ .

Allahumma inna na'udhu bika min wa'thaa'is-safari wa ka'abatil-munqalabi wa su'il-manzari fil-maali wal-ahli wal-waladi.

• At the same time, from Ayat al-Kursi and Qul Yayayha Al-Kafirun to Qul A'Udhu Bir Rabbi al-Nas. Recite all five surahs with Bismillah, except for Tabat, then recite Bismillah Sharif once at the end, and he will be at ease throughout the journey.
• While climbing to every height, say Allahu Akbar and while descending the slope say Subhan Allah.
• Always recite Ayatul Kursi once while sleeping as it protects one from thieves and devils.

At the same time, also read it

اِنَّ الَّذِیْ فَرَضَ عَلَیْكَ الْقُرْاٰنَ لَرَآدُّكَ اِلٰى مَعَادٍ

Inna alladhi farada 'alayka al-Qur'ana laraadduka ila ma'ad.

Read it once, you will definitely come back. The one who is riding on a railway and car,

بِسْم اللہ ( Bismillah )- say it three times, then

اَللہُ اَکْبَرُ   (Allah Akbar) and

اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰہِ (Alhamdulillah) and

 سُبْحٰنَ اللہ (Subhanallah)

Each dua mentioned above say it three times

لَا اِلٰہَ اِلَّا اللہُ  (La ilaha illallah)

سُبْحٰنَ الَّذِیْ سَخَّرَ لَنَا هٰذَا وَ مَا كُنَّا لَهٗ مُقْرِنِیْنَۙ (Subhana-lladhi sakhkhara lana haza wa ma kunna lahu muqrinin ). 

وَ اِنَّاۤ اِلٰى رَبِّنَا لَمُنْقَلِبُوْنَ (Wa inna ila Rabbina lamunqalibun.)

Be saved from his harms.

When riding in a river, say:

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ مَجْرٖؔىهَا وَ مُرْسٰىهَاؕ-اِنَّ رَبِّیْ لَغَفُوْرٌ رَّحِیْمٌ(۴۱))وَ مَا قَدَرُوا اللّٰهَ حَقَّ قَدْرِهٖ ﳓ وَ الْاَرْضُ جَمِیْعًا قَبْضَتُهٗ یَوْمَ الْقِیٰمَةِ وَ السَّمٰوٰتُ مَطْوِیّٰتٌۢ بِیَمِیْنِهٖؕ-سُبْحٰنَهٗ وَ تَعٰلٰى عَمَّا یُشْرِكُوْنَ(۶۷)

Bismillahi majraha wa mursaaha. Inna rabbi laghafurun rahim. Wa ma qadarullaha haqqa qadrihi. Wal ardhu jamee'an qabdhatuhu yawmal qiyamati was-samawatu matwiyyatun biyameenihi. Subhanahu wa ta'ala 'amma yushrikoon.
